WHO AM I

I am not a crystal, but
I’m a cube of ice, which is
Quietly melting away
I am not a thorn, but
I’m a leaf at the mercy of thorns,
When they sway
I am not fire, but
I’m a burning candle hoping to lit the path
Of those who loose the way
I am not a gem or a diamond,
But only a glowing piece of charcoal
That is turning to ashes to become grey
I am not a log, but
I’m a stick of wood that keeps bending
Until it gives the way
Who am “I”, a wandering traveler in search of love,
Struggling to stay afloat in the ocean of ‘anger’, ‘hate’ and ‘self’
Can ‘I’ burn my ‘self’ to light my own path?
Can ‘I’ become my own guide in search of love?
But isn’t it true, there is no love until there is ‘I’
Who am I? None but a wandering soul
a speck of divine, always on a journey unknown
Then let my ‘self’ be moulded like a lump of clay.
